Danielle discovers the difference that freedom makes to those with mental illness.

On a sunny afternoon in South London, Danielle meets Idara, a young woman who has spent several weeks as an inpatient on a psychiatric ward and is now in recovery. They share their experiences of the hospital environment, and the way it can make you feel.

Danielle discovers an alternative way of treating people with mental health disorders when Idara introduces her to the Mosaic Clubhouse, a unique charity where visitors are treated as 'members', rather than 'patients'.

Presented by Danielle Manning, Sectioned is a five-part series that explores what it means to be sectioned under the mental health act and how it can change your life. Hear the stories of people with lived experience of being sectioned and discover what it means to have your freedom taken away for your own safety, and the safety of others.

Produced by Maddie Hickish. The Executive Producer is Nick Minter. It is a Wisebuddah production for ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 1.
