Episode 3
In this final part Barra visits the place where it is believed Ireland's history began, joins Coleraine's Olympic rowing brothers and goes in search of elusive otters on the estuary.
Barra Best swaps his day job as weather presenter to make the journey along the River Bann, meeting along the way some of those who live, work and play on Northern Ireland’s longest river.
This final part of the trip picks up at the point where the Lower Bann begins at the northern side of Lough Neagh. Barra visits the place where it’s believed Ireland’s history started, he takes a rowing lesson from Coleraine’s Olympic medal-winning brothers and goes in search of the elusive otters on the estuary.
As the river rushes towards the Atlantic Ocean at the north coast and his journey comes to an end, Barra reflects on the beauty, scale and surprise of Northern Ireland’s longest river.
With beautiful landscapes brought to the screen through aerial photography, this series provides a unique window on life along the River Bann.
