Bryony Kimmings

Reverend Kate Bottley and Jason Mohammad meet performance artist and 'Last Christmas' writer Bryony Kimmings.

Bryony Kimmings, performance artist and co-writer behind the upcoming 'Last Christmas' movie, joins Rev Kate Bottley and Jason Mohammad.

Bryony makes theatre shows, films and artwork that often blows open taboos, tackles stigma and social injustice. Previously she's explored alcoholism, sexually-transmitted diseases and pop stardom. She tells Kate and Jason about her current touring show 'I'm A Phoenix', a deeply personal piece about motherhood, heartbreak and inner strength. Written after dealing with a post-natal breakdown, the end of a relationship and a sick child, critics called the show 'an extraordinary piece of theatre'. Plus Bryony tells Kate and Jason about the upcoming 'Last Christmas' movie featuring the music of George Michael, she's co-written with Emma Thompson.

Plus Jason talks to John Chester, a Hollywood film-maker who, with his wife Molly, swopped city living for 200 acres of barren farmland and a dream of organic farming. The upcoming documentary film 'The Biggest Little Farm' chronicles John and Molly's 8 year quest to create something in harmony with nature, facing hurdles, setbacks and wildfires along the way. John tells Jason about what kept them going, what they learned, and what lessons he'd pass on about what we can all do in the face of our changing climate.

Our Charity Champion is Rev Dave Berry, the vicar of St Peter's Church in Bentley, one of the worst affected areas when the river Don burst it's banks this month. Rev Dave Berry tells us how local faith communities have come together to support those who've been flooded.
