Face Tattoos; Nursing Shortages; Vaping Safety Fears

Tattoos are becoming more visible as young people increasingly ask to be inked on their hands, necks and faces. Plus care leaders call for more action on a shortage of nurses.

The British Tattoo Artists Federation has told You & Yours more young people than ever are now requesting tattoos on parts of their body that cannot easily be hidden. Hand, neck and face tattoos used to be known as "job stoppers" but are now becoming for some people the first place they wish to be inked. Winifred Robinson speaks to Nadine Anderson, a 23 year old care worker from Dundee, who has spent the last five years getting covered in a tattoo bodysuit. Her tattoos have led her to amass a huge following on Instagram, and a modelling contract. So are in your face tattoos now becoming more accepted in society?

Care England, the organisation that represents residential and nursing providers tells us why it wants Health Care Assistants and Nursing Associates to be included on the official UK Shortage Occupation list. It already includes jobs including nurses and midwives, but Care England believes it must include these roles too as demand outstrips supply.

Plus we speak to smoking cessation expert Professor Robert West, Director of Tobacco Studies at UCL, about the many recent news stories about vaping from the US and the UK. How worried should users of e-cigarettes be?
