Kevin Le Gendre presents an exclusive session from trailblazing UK septet ±·Ã©°ù¾±Âá²¹. They perform music from their debut album, Blume, which pairs danceable grooves with joyful melodies, drawing on funk, soul, hip hop and Afrobeat. ±·Ã©°ù¾±Âá²¹ brings together some of the most talked-about players on the London scene: saxophonists Nubya Garcia and Cassie Kinoshi, trumpeter Sheila Maurice-Grey, trombonist Rosie Turton, guitarist Shirley Tetteh, drummer Lizy Exell and bassist Rio Kai.

Also in the programme, vocalist Daymé Arocena shares music that inspires her. She explores her Cuban heritage and pays tribute to one of the greats of jazz voice, Nina Simone.
