Are Indian TV dramas just good entertainment or a bad influence?

Are Indian TV dramas just good entertainment or a bad influence? Haroon is asking this after an online article accused daily soaps of not showing real-life incidents and showing regressive representations of women. After that the co-founders of the Punjabi Women’s Forum, Serena Chana and Simranjit Kaur, talk to us about why they feel young Punjabi ladies need a place to speak confidentially about how their community works. Then we’ll hear about a new play called ‘Mushy: Lyrically Speaking’, which is based on the story of Musharaf Asghar, a young Asian boy who struggled with a stammer but made significant progress thanks to his teacher and a clever idea involving music. The play’s director, Ameet Chana, tells Haroon about it. Plus, in our feature ‘What’s God got to do with it?’ our panel of guests discuss whether religious societies help integrate or divide students at university.
