Dan Hawkins from The Darkness

Dan Hawkins, guitarist for The Darkness reveals his ultimate Rock God. Plus, Brian May gives us a sneak peak of his own upcoming Radio 2 show!

Dan Hawkins formed The Darkness with his brother Justin. Dan took on guitar duties while Justin braved the spotlight up front. The band hit the big time almost 20 years ago with their debut album, 'Permission to Land'. Fast forward to 2019 and they're getting ready to release and tour their new album in the autumn. Before that though, they're playing at this year's Ramblin' Man Festival in Maidstone which takes place on the 19-21st July. Dan thought long and hard about who to choose for his 'Rock God' and its fair to say you won't be disappointed with his choice. Also on the show, Brian May will give us all a taste of what's to come on his new Radio 2 show, 'Brian May's 1969'. Plus Johnnie will take a look back at 'This Week In Rock' with some help from the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Archives. Expect to hear the cream of the new rock releases too, as well as a plethora of rock gems from throughout the years.
