Mary Anne is live from Festival Square for this year's Manchester International Festival. The two week festival is a celebration of art, theatre, music and more. 6 Music will sit right at the heart of this year's extravaganza, as we celebrate everything the festival has to offer. We'll also be celebrating the city of Manchester and diving deep into its cultural landscape to discover what makes this city tick.

Across the show, we catch up with Maxine Peake and find out about her latest work, The Nico Project, which is a theatre and music piece inspired by Nico鈥檚 1968 album The Marble Index. We'll be chatting to Cosey Fanni Tutti, who is performing at Manchester鈥檚 Subliminal Impulse Electronic Music Festival on Friday night

Manchester street artists and all round visionaries, Nomad Clan will share their take on the Manchester art scene, and A Winged Victory for the Sullen will be discussing the score they have composed for the for the dance piece Invisible Cities, which makes it's debut at Manchester International Festival.

Plus we鈥檒l be co-hosting the last half hour of the show with some bloke named Shaun Keaveny.
