Welcome to The Spiritual Gym

The Reverend Kate Bottley and Jason Mohammad present ethical and religious issues, with guests and spiritual music.

Good Morning Sunday launches a brand new feature: The Spiritual Gym. There’s no membership fee. Join Kate and Jason each month for simple practical tips to help nurture your soul and bring some calm to your busy life. Our first personal trainer is award winning gardener Hannah Genders. She’s passionate about the therapeutic benefits that come from getting outside and getting your hands stuck in the soil and Hannah tells us about five plants that can make you feel better.

Next week events will be held to mark the 75th anniversary of the D Day landings. As she researched her latest novel, the journalist and writer Sarah Meyrick discovered that two of her relatives served in the campaign. Sarah’s research also uncovered stories about some of the military chaplains who served during D Day and tells Kate and Jason about some of their stories.

And our Charity Champion is 22 year-old Amy Pearson who is a leader in the Girl Guides. To mark Volunteers Week she tells Kate and Jason about the benefits that volunteering has brought to her especially during tough or stressful moments in her life.
