Stuart talks to Robin Wattie from Big Brave about their thunderous metal minimalism. Inspired by the tension between performer and audience created in John Cage鈥檚 famous piece 4鈥�33鈥�, Big Brave make primal loud sounds that use repetition, space and volume. Their fourth album The Gaze Among Them has just been released by Southern Lord records, a label run by Greg Anderson of Sunn 0))).

Also in the show, Stuart plays several tracks from The Groundhogs鈥� anti-war prog rock opus Thank Christ For The Bomb. There鈥檚 rustic violin virtuosity from Laura Cannell, modern lute music from Josef van Wissem and a song dedicated to the invention of silicon, part of an entire musical commissioned by General Electric for its workers in 1973.
