Across Britain, it's getting harder than ever to book a GP appointment. As more of us live longer and have chronic conditions, demand is escalating, but there's a huge shortage of doctors. Local practices are struggling to cope and many are being forced to close as more doctors quit, unable to deal with the pressure. Panorama films with doctors and patients on the frontline and reveals that many GPs think the crisis is putting lives at risk. Will the government’s new plan help matters or is it just going to get worse?
