Farming Today This Week: Public on Farms
Charlotte Smith meets Sophie McConnell at her family's rare breeds farm in Wiltshire to find out how they balance public-facing activities with the well-being of their livestock.
Charlotte Smith visits 'Cholderton Charlie's' to meet Sophie McConnell to find out how her family have developed this rare breeds farm and find out how they balance public-facing activities with the well-being of their livestock. As they wander from the tree-top walk to the zip wire, and past the Eriskay Ponies and Saddleback pigs, Sophie and Charlotte discuss how the breeding programmes of the ponies, pigs and sheep are integral to the farm's success, and Farm Manager Dan explains how managing public expectation can be challenging, especially when dealing with a stubborn Alpaca.
