Good morning,
When you woke up yesterday, I wonder if you expected all that yesterday would bring? Most of us experience a fair amount of routine in our day to day lives, but it’s rare to have a day without something surprising us…….I love being able to say that I’ve learned something new in a day, even if it’s only something minor.
So what will today and tomorrow bring?Β Some uncertainty I can guarantee, because whether you are waiting for a bus, a tram or a train, or waiting for the next steps in the Brexit process to unfold, there will be uncertainty in the journey ahead.
Of course, when we have the luxury of time to look back on events that have happened in life, politics, the wider sphere of world events, a direct trajectory is not often so easy to identify……more than often there will have been twists and turns and related events that have Β in some way or another affected the path that has unfolded – and in much of that we might also apply our own interpretation.Β
The ability to learn from experience and not to be thrown about by uncertainty helps build resilience in body, mind and spirit.Β To be able to embrace the unexpected, to welcome the challenge, and to allow ourselves to be open to change is almost a necessity in life if we’re to be able to flourish as individuals and in community together.Β
To set out on our own course in life and never be moved from it, is not only naΓ―ve, but it can be dangerous, if we close off our minds to what we can learn from someone or something new and surprising.
God of the journey, keep me open to the adventure of life that begins again today.Β Amen
