EIF Director Fergus Linehan, Scottish Ballet and Fat Cops in Session

Grant Stott has music and conversation with our former single of the week artists, Fat Cops.

Grant Stott has music and conversation with our former single of the week artists, Fat Cops - a six piece featuring Chris Deerin - lead vocals, Robert Hodgens (aka Bobby Bluebell) - guitars and vocals, Chris β€œBass Chris” Ayre - bass and vocals, Euan McColm guitars, Al Murray - drums and vocals and Neil Murray - keys.

On the day the 2019 Edinburgh International Festival Programme is revealed, Director Fergus Linehan will be on hand to share all the details: expect daring dance, captivating theatre, outstanding opera, plus contemporary and classical music galore.

Grant will also preview Scottish Ballet’s Spring Season in the company of Christopher Hampson (Artistic Director) and First Artist, Madeline Squire...

And, ahead of its theatrical release, he'll have a special report on the heart-warming and off-kilter comedy drama Eaten By Lions....

He will also talk to Robert Lloyd-Parry who is bringing his one-man show based on the classic ghost stories of M R James to Glasgow: you can catch β€˜A Warning to the Curious: Two Ghost Stories by M R James’ (on Thurs 28 and Fri 29 March) at the headquarters of the Glasgow Theosophical Society.

All that and the next instalment in our on-going series of features on β€˜Great Scottish Theatres’ - our reporter Bob Dickson has been exploring the rich and varied history of THE TRAVERSE THEATRE CLUB - which opened at the start of 1963 just off Edinburgh’s Royal Mile. Thought by some at the time to be something of an β€˜enfant terrible’, THE TRAVERSE CLUB wasn’t afraid to stage provoking and challenging material and, today, THE TRAVERSE THEATRE has a worldwide reputation for the quality of it’s work.
