South Africa's Lwazi Asanda Gwala, aka DJ Lag, brings the sounds of Gqom to Radio 1.

Gqom is the minimalist bass and percussion heavy genre of house which has exploded out of the coastal city of Durban and onto the world stage over the past few years. One of the genre's innovators is Clermont townships' Lwazi Asanda Gwala, aka DJ Lag. He came to international prominence with releases on the London based Goon Club Allstars label. And he has toured the Gqom sound around the world, playing at clubs and festivals everywhere from the USA to Australia.
