Barry Humphries: Barry's Wireless Christmas

Barry Humphries spins his Turntable Time Machine to transport listeners back to the Age of the Wireless. It was a time before skinny lattes, microwaves and Darth Vader!

Another chance to hear Barry Humphries on the nation's favourite radio station with his Turntable Time Machine and in this special two-hour Christmas show celebrating the Age of the Wireless. He plays the original, rarely-heard opening verse of Irving Berlin’s β€˜White Christmas’ and reveals how Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer was actually born in Chicago.

Barry also explains how he came to be sacked from his Christmas job in a top Melbourne Department Store and reveals his sadness that he's never received a Christmas card from Dame Edna, who is spending this Christmas on the Island of Mustique.

There'll be music from: Judy Garland, Jimmy Durante, Peggy Lee, Julie London, Spike Milligan, Gert & Daisy, Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire... plus there'll be a rare recording from Santa Claus himself!
