For Those Watching In Black And White
Paul Jackson explores how TV reflects cultural changes: 1969, snooker and the arrival of colour in βPot Blackβ. From May 2003.
In 1969, a short innovative programme was broadcast to make the most of the recently launched colour ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ TV service.
By the time its last final was screened, βPot Blackβ had not only re-energised snooker, it had also changed forever the relationship between TV and sport.
Paul Jackson continues his exploration of the social and cultural context of cult TV programmes that have caught the mood of the nation.
Featuring David Attenborough, Peter Fiddick, Ted Lowe and Stephen Hendry
Director: Paul Kobrak
First broadcast on ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 4 in 2003.
