Kenneth Williams concludes the Gothic satire poking fun at the Romantic Movement in English literature of the time and its obsession with the morbid.

First published in 1818, β€˜Nightmare Abbey’ follows the fortunes of widower Christopher Glowry, who lives with his son, Scythrop, in the dilapidated family mansion- in Lincolnshire, on a dry stretch of land between the sea and the fens.

Abridged in eight parts and produced by Martin Remes.

First broadcast on ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 4 in 1979.
