Roger Daltrey chooses the Tracks of My Years

Roger Daltrey chooses the Tracks of My Years with music from Ike and Tina Turner and The Bee Gees. There's the daily love song, record and album of the week plus PopMaster

Roger Daltrey, frontman of The Who, one of the world's biggest and most influential rock bands of the 20th Century, is choosing the Tracks of My Years with music from Ike & Tina Turner and The Bee Gees. Born in 1944, Roger fought his way (literally) through school and out of poverty. While working at a sheet metal factory he first assembled The Who in 1961, recruiting John Entwistle and agreeing to John's proposal that Pete Townshend should join. Roger was the band's voice, a powerhouse of a frontman known for his stage presence and energy. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005. His autobiography was published in October of this year taking readers through his 50 year career with the band and their million record-selling success, not to mention a solo career that spanned eight studio albums. The book also gives a glimpse into life in Britain from the 1940s to the 1970s, a tumultuous time of change.

Ken also has the daily love song, record and album of the week plus another round of PopMaster. If you'd like to get in touch with the show email Ken.Bruce@bbc.co.uk
