Blood Orange sits in

Dev Hynes - AKA Blood Orange - plays two hours of the music that inspires him including cuts by Alice Coltrane, Lil Wayne, Foxy Brown and Mattie Moss Clark.

As part of the Black Power season, Dev Hynes - better known as Blood Orange - sits in for Iggy Pop playing two hours of the music that inspires him.

He'll be spinning cuts by Alice Coltrane, Lil Wayne, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Foxy Brown and Mattie Moss Clark.

The UK singer, songwriter, dancer and director first emerged on the UK music scene as a member of the band test Icicles in 2004. He has since gone on to work with Florence and the Machine, Blondie, Solange Knowles and FKA Twigs.
Iggy is a fan and frequently plays his music from albums such as Freetown Sound and his latest, Negro Swan.

This programme is part of the Black Power Season on 6 Music, 1Xtra and 5Live, marking 50 years since Tommie Smith and John Carlos raised their fists in the Black Power salute at the 1968 Mexico Olympics.
