Anthony and John
Paul Martin teaches people the tricks of the antiques trade. This episode takes place in East Anglia, with brothers Tony and John competing against each other.
Can this episode's two new recruits prove themselves as antiques dealers? Under Paul Martin's eagle eye they put up their own hard-earned cash to buy at auction and try to sell on to make themselves a profit. They need to know what items will sell easily and how much things are worth. Paul gives them guidance but isn't with them in the auction, so they are in charge of their own destiny.
How do they cope with the challenge - do they strike lucky with their buys, or do they struggle to shift their purchases? How do you find a buyer for a tray of Dutch tiles that are valuable but damaged, and a fun, modern, metal cow doorstop?
Once their selling is complete they meet up again with Paul, who watches their selling techniques and reveals who has made the biggest profit and proved themselves the day's dealer. This episode comes from East Anglia, with brothers Tony and John Wakefield competing against each other.
