St Francis in the Modern World

The Rev Sharon Grenham-Thompson explores the legacy of St Francis of Assisi at the headquarters of the Franciscan Order in Rome.

For 800 years, men and women have been motivated by the spirituality and teaching of St Francis of Assisi. They have been inspired to take religious vows of poverty and chastity and obedience and to live by the Rule of St Francis, a way of life established by Francis himself in 1223.
The Revd Sharon Grenham-Thompson explores the legacy of St Francis at the headquarters of the Franciscan Order in Rome, speaking to men who have taken these vows about their life and their mission. She is joined by young singers from Kantos Chamber Choir, directed by Ellie Slorach, who reflect on their own experience of Franciscan Spirituality as they visit significant sites around Rome and Assisi.
