Stopping
Top endurance cyclist Lee Craigie jumps on her bike and goes in search of a few lessons in how to live a richer, more rewarding, happier, healthier life.
Endurance cyclist Lee Craigie jumps on her bike, Jimmy, and goes in search of a few lessons in how to live a richer more rewarding, happier and healthier life. Something, ultimately many of us are constantly striving to do. Along the way Lee challenges herself to question her own life and values as she discovers how other people's life experiences have shaped their particular philosophy or way of living.
For someone who hardly ever stops moving the idea of stopping is utterly unnatural to Lee, even eating while pedalling Jimmy. She finds even the idea of stillness, physical inaction, uncomfortable. So this programme searches for the key to stillness. To learn how to stop in a world which encourages us to be active 24/7.
Lee races from a week of bike packing down to the Tibetan Buddhist Monastery Samye Ling where she parks her bike for 48 hours of stillness, Tai Chi and finding just a little bit more time in her and our lives for doing nothing.
