For the last fifteen years the Wales and Borders rail franchise has been run by Arriva Trains Wales.

But not for much longer.Ìý FromÌýOctober 14 there will be a new set up and a new operator on theÌýWelsh railways.

Ìý

TheÌýcompanyÌýKeolisAmey will run the service but the name on the trains will be Transport for Wales.

Ìý

Wholly –owned by the Welsh Government, it’s TfW'sÌýjob to make sure that theÌýpromise of new trains and betterÌýservices is delivered upon.

In tonight’s Eye on Wales, Nelli Bird speaks to TfW’s chief executive and the man who led the winning bid for KeolisAmey about the task that lies ahead of them.Ìý
