Call You and Yours - 'What have you given up to care for somebody else?'
More people than ever are caring for a parent, child or relative. It affects their income and health. The programme is asking 'What have you given up to care for somebody else?'.
Today we're asking: what have you given up to care for somebody else?
A million more people are looking after a parent, child or relative than were a decade ago. They're putting in more time, making more sacrifices, giving up jobs and promotion prospects. Most of them are women but the men who care take the biggest financial hit. A huge study of 40,000 people paints a picture of caring at a time when men and women go out to work and there are fewer people to do it.
