Vicky Beeching and Carers' Week
Adil Ray and Rev Kate Bottley mark Carers' Week and meet the former evangelical singer Vicky Beeching who lost her recording career when she came out as gay.
With the Rev Kate Bottley and Adil Ray, sitting in for Jason Mohammad.
Vicky Beeching was an evangelical Christian songwriter, her work known and admired in churches in the UK and the US. In her 30's she faced a health crisis and came out as gay. She tells Adil and Kate what happened next and how she put the pieces back together, as told in her memoir 'Undivided: Coming Out, Becoming Whole, and Living Free from Shame'.
On Sunday morning 42 cyclists left Berlin an a 600 mile journey to London. The trip is to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Kindertransport when 10, 000 children were saved from Nazi-Europe. Phil Harris tells us the story of his grandmother whose journey he is retracing.
