Frances Tophill checks on the progress of crops on her shared allotment. The beautiful woodland garden Mark Lane went to visit in Suffolk is owned by the horticultural charity, Perennial. Consisting of seven acres on the banks of the River Lark, it's a lovely place to spend an afternoon if you happen to be in the area. It’s open from April to September on Wednesdays and Fridays (2-5pm) plus all day on Sunday (11-5pm). RHS members are entitled to free entry on Wednesdays.
