Nicola Meighan Stands In

Nicola Meighan is joined by Stuart Macbride, who has sped-read Bill Clinton's new thriller, plus Dundee's McManus Gallery is taken over by The Beano as the comic turns 80.

Bill Clinton (yes that Bill Clinton) has written a novel! The President is Missing is a thriller co-authored by the former President, and American crime author James Patterson. The Afternoon Show has asked Scottish crime writer Stuart Macbride to be on standby and speed read it for us: he'll tell Nicola if it's any good, and talk about his own new book, The Blood Road.

Dr Peter Lovatt is a dance psychologist. The former professional dancer turned academic is coming to Edinburgh and Glasgow with his Boogie on the Brain tour, which combines a science lecture with a two hour dance class.

After 20 years of campaigning, fundraising and planning, Kirkcudbright Galleries open next weekend. Nicola hears the story of how a dedicated group of people worked to secure a permanent place for art in a town with a rich art history.

And in the Tuesday Review: Gayle Anderson, Jonathan Whitelaw and Fiona Shepherd review the return of Poldark for its fourth series, and No Shame, the new album from Lily Allen. Plus Bash Street's Back at the McMenace - Dundee's McManus Galleries celebrate 80 years of the Beano. Alongside the review we hear from Editor in Chief Mike Stirling, and curator Carly Cooper.
