New government guidance on how to start a family using a surrogate, the 250-year history of women cartoonists and the impact of coercive control on children.
The government has published new guidance on how to start a family using a surrogate in England and Wales. So, what is the advice and does it go far enough to protect all parties? Jenni is joined by a surrogate, Caroline, Natalie Smith from the charity Surrogacy UK and fertility lawyer Natalie Gamble.
We explore the 250 year history of women cartoonists and comic artists in Britain. From Mary Darly's satirical prints in the 1700s, to the feminist cartoons of the 1990s and to the present day's zine scene. We find out more about the women who have created these artworks with illustrator Dr Nicola Streeten and card publisher Cath Tate.
What is the impact of coercive control on children? This week, we have been discussing how men and women have been affected by it and today we hear from a listener who experienced it during her childhood and a mother concerned about her teenage children.
