More about the programme

What are the sounds that sum up the Welsh countryside for you? Is it the bleating of new-born lambs? Or the song of woodland birds? Or the sound of shotguns at a pheasant shoot?Β

Wales’s environment body Natural Resources Wales or NRW currently leases four areas of woodland for pheasant shoots. This earns NRW around £6,000 each year.

After reviewing its policy on shooting, NRW is proposing that it continues to consider leasing land for pheasant shoots.Β

Eye on Wales hears from those for and against NRW’s proposals, drawn up after taking evidence from a range of interested parties.

And the programme asks is there room for ethics in the environment or should these arguments be settled with science?
