There's so much more to military bands than 'by the left, quick march... '
Frank Renton with both classic and contemporary sounds from military bands today.
If the duties of a military musician have never been as diverse, neither has the music they play. Frank Renton presents the electronic beats of Vangelis' Chariots of Fire, some atmospheric guitar work on Scarborough Fair, the Beatles on the move and great music by one of our most distinguished composers Edward Gregson. And a march? Well of course, one of the very best by Kenneth Alford which Frank recalls conducting as he led his then band The Royal Artillery Band through the streets of London for the first time.
