Sara speaks to Coronation Street star Antony Cotton who's skating his way through in this year's Dancing On Ice on ITV. He tells us about his impressive moves ahead of the super skate-off this week with a double elimination. We celebrate twenty years of Antony Gormley's Angel of the North statue in Gateshead and discover that it weighs 200 tonnes and it has a wingspan is bigger than a Boeing 757! We hear from three fab Early Achievers who tell us what they've been doing since the crack of dawn including Luke in Liverpool who's been up since 6am marking 200 mock-History exam papers! Yesterday on Valentine’s day I was thinking about my experience this time last year. My family were all away on holiday so I took my time pottering around after getting home from work. Just before bed I double checked the back door, which I’d left locked all day.

Ìý

Strangely– the key just swivelled smoothly round and round, and the door was unlocked. My mind couldn’t even accommodate the obvious at that point. Nothing looked unusual downstairs, so I shut it and headed up. A queasy horror movie feeling started descending on me…Ìý I snapped on the lights. My eyes nearly popped out. It was complete chaos. Every cupboard and drawer in every bedroom had been emptied on to the floor. You couldn’t even see the floor actually, it was so covered in clothes and books and papers, and displaced furniture –even a tub of paint stripper had been tipped everywhere.

After two days of fingerprinting and cleaning up, it appeared all the thieves had been looking for was gold jewellery. For the huge effort they’d made, they’d only taken away two small pairs of earrings.

Yesterday I was thinking about their endeavour. They’d targeted six houses in our area that night, and more the next day – each time risking capture or failure for - what I know from speaking to other neighbours - was often not much gain.

Much as I’d like to think myself different from them, yesterday I was realising that such massive efforts for such a little reward are not unfamiliar to me either. My search for love and happiness, can inspire the same kind of dogged pursuit against all odds. Even with a daily spiritual practise, I still fall time and time again for thinking certain people or situations are going to fulfil something that is much deeper.

The ancient wisdom books of India, called the Vedas,Ìý give a funny example of this. The musk deer is an animal that in certain times of year can be seen frantically running through the forest, searching out the source of the amazing fragrance it can smell. It could search forever, because it doesn’t realise the smell is coming from a gland in its own belly button.

The image of this deer running around day and night is one I like to remember, reminding me that my goal in life is to uncover the divine love within, and get the deepest fulfilment that comes from sharing it.

On the home front, an odd coincidence is that the council also decided to give us a brand new front and back door yesterday, yet after having my laptop stolen from a locked car boot recently too, I’m ever more convinced it’s the internal treasures I should be investing in!
