Sun and Moon from Miss Saigon
Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Boublil and Schönberg’s legendary musical, MISS SAIGON, opened last week at Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre, for a month-long run, part of the national tour following smash hit runs in the West End and on Broadway.
Based on Madame Butterfly, it’s a story of love and war, set during the last days of the Vietnam War. 17 year-old Kim is forced to work in a Saigon bar run by a notorious character known as the Engineer. There she meets and falls in love with Chris, an American GI, but they’re torn apart by the fall of Saigon. For 3 years Kim goes on a journey of survival to find her way back to Chris, who has no idea he's fathered a son. Â
