Zoe Ball will be rummaging through her record collection for a fun Saturday afternoon. She'll be getting callers on air for the 5 O'Clock Freak Out, Couch Potatoes quiz and finishing off the show with her Winning in Life Bulletin. Joining Zoe this afternoon will be comedian Lucy Porter to talk about her forthcoming show Choose Your Battles.

As someone with a lifelong fear of making a scene, Lucy Porter has always erred on the side of caution when it comes to conflict. When she was a single, self-employed, stand-up comedian, it was never that much of a problem as she spent 99% of her time alone. Now that Lucy's a wife, mother and pillar of the local community, she is finding it a lot tougher. In marriage guidance and parenting manuals, the received wisdom is that you should choose your battles and not sweat the small stuff, but how do you know when to stand your ground?

For example, if a child refuses to go to a wedding unless they can dress as The Incredible Hulk, what should you do? Lucy decided to take the path of least resistance, only to be faced with a tearful bride and a bill for ruined wedding photos.

Lucy will be talking with Zoe about using secret ballots and visual aids for her show to work out when she should stick to her guns and fight, and when she can use her disarming charm to defuse a situation.
