Nadine Coyle chooses the Tracks of My Years

Nadine Coyle chooses the Tracks of My Years with music from Adele and The Pretenders. There's the daily love song, record and album of the week plus PopMaster.

Nadine Coyle, one-fifth of the chart-topping, award-winning band Girls Aloud, is back on the music scene after a much-needed break plus a brief attempt at running a restaurant in Los Angeles. Under the watchful eye of experimental pop alchemist Brian Higgins and Xenomania, his production outfit, Girls Aloud racked up an incredible 21 UK Top Ten singles, 20 of those consecutively. The girls could do no wrong, sashaying through a ten year, five album career, having launched on a now defunct TV talent show "Pop Stars: The Rivals" back in 2002. The band split in 2013 after their final tour and it wasn't until 2015 that Nadine reconnected with Brian and his creative crew and ever since then have been making what they believe is "gloriously off-centre, head-spinning pop songs to make people dance". Her single "Go To Work", was released in September this year and Brian, unbeknownst to Nadine, played it in a meeting with the head of Virgin EMI, Ted Cockle, refusing initially to tell him who was singing. Cockle was very impressed confirming a record deal right there and then, much to Nadine's joy. Fifteen years after her music journey started at the age of sixteen she feels she's back where she belongs.

Today Nadine has chosen music from Adele and The Pretenders. Ken also has the daily love song, record and album of the week plus PopMaster. If you'd like to get in touch with the Show email Ken.Bruce@bbc.co.uk.
