Winifred Robinson asks: What's the right way to get a pet? How did YOU get yours?
The Dogs Trust says a record 100 dogs from illegal puppy farms abroad have been seized in just one week at UK borders. The rise is being blamed on growing demand for puppies this Christmas.
It's an increasing problem. The Trust says close to 300,000 dogs were brought to Britain last year - a three fold increase since 2011.
