Arthur Watson
Edi Stark talks to artist, traditional singer and president of the Royal Scottish Academy of Art and architecture Arthur Watson.
Edi's guest is artist and traditional singer Arthur Watson, president of the Royal Scottish Academy of art and architecture, the home of Scottish contemporary art.
He tells Edi about the inspiration of his eccentric art teacher in Aberdeen , and explains that it was terror that motivated him to co found Peacock Printmakers, which attracted artists from all over the world to the granite city to work with this master printmaker. He himself has exhibited widely, including Japan where he converted an entire hilltop village to the joy of traditional travellers' folk song.
He also explains why he prefers to have no computer, television or sofa and why sleeping on a futon in a tiny bedroom is ideal living for a working artist.
