Rob Stringer picks the Tracks of My Years

Rob Stringer, CEO of Sony Music Entertainment worldwide and recipient of this year's Music Industry Trusts Award picks the Tracks of My Years. Plus Ken has the PopMaster quiz.

Rob Stringer, CEO of Sony Music Entertainment worldwide picks the Tracks of My Years with songs from David Bowie and Daft Punk as he shares his memories of working in the music industry for over 30 years. Rob started out in the music business in 1985 at CBS Records and rose to be the managing director of Epic Records in 1992. His first-signing was Manic Street Preachers, a band who've gone on to sell millions of records. He's also worked with The Clash, Jamiroquai, Sade and George Michael. Whilst running Columbia Records and working in America he's overseen releases by Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen, Daft Punk and Tony Bennett. He also had a key role in the release of David Bowie's final album, Blackstar.
This year Rob has been awarded the Music Industry Trusts Award which honours an individual who has made a significant contribution to the UK music industry. It also raises money for charities The BRIT Trust and Nordoff Robbins. The Award is now 26th year and previously the prize has been given to Sir George Martin, Sir Elton John, Annie Lennox and Simon Cowell.
Plus Ken has the PopMaster music quiz, the daily Love Song and the record and album of the week. If you want to contact the show, email ken.bruce@bbc.co.uk.
