Afternoon Concert's tone poem theme continues with one of the most programmatic of symphonies - Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique - paired with a modern-day take on the symphony from Tan Dun. There's more French programmatic music, this time by Saint-SaΓ«ns, along with Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No.1 performed by Matthew Trusler.
