Music 'til Midnight - Moira Stuart showcases the best in easy listening sounds and timeless standards performed by the greatest artists of the past 60 years. Including Harry Connick, Jr., Mel Torme, Frank Sinatra and Duke Ellington, plus new releases from Liane Carroll and John Pizzarelli. This week's featured album is Scott Walker's 1969 release, Sings Songs From His TV series. This is an album that is often unfairly overlooked these days, as it has never been reissued since its initial release. It was also slightly unusual at the time, as it was a collection of well-known standards by other writers including Antonio Carlos Jobim, Kurt Weill and Johnny Mercer, rather than featuring Scott's own compositions. But the results still show Scott at his very best in arrangements by Peter Knight and produced by his long-time collaborator Johnny Franz. Featured titles include Someone To Light Up My Life, Lost In The Stars and When The World Was Young.
