Foo Fighters Special

The Foo Fighters play the O2 to celebrate the launch of their 9th album Concrete and Gold and Jo Whiley and Radio 2 have been granted special access to the inner sanctum.

As the band play London's O2 to celebrate the launch of their 9th album Concrete and Gold. Jo Whiley will be talking to the Foo Fighters as they prepare for their headline gig and with the noise still ringing in her ears she'll be heading to their dressing room for a post-show debrief.

Jo will also be looking back across the band's amazing career, from their first Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio session 22 years ago to their triumphant headline set at this year's Glastonbury Festival. We'll hear why Sir Paul McCartney and Justin Timberlake ended up appearing on the latest album and just how Rick Astley ended up joining them on stage to sing Never Gonna Give You Up.

Jo will also find out what it takes to put on an arena tour with one of the biggest bands in the world, by speaking to the behind the scenes heroes who make it happen and just two months after they appeared on the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Introducing stage at Latitude, unsigned Bristol band (and Jeremy Vine favourites) Idles will be supporting The Foo's - we'll hear the bizarre story of how this came about.
