Cosmetic surgery ads, Single parents, Personalised books
The ads for cosmetic surgery that are broadcast ahead of online videos being watched by young women. Plus a report into the financial struggles being faced by many single parents.
Adverts for cosmetic surgery used to be found in the back pages of beauty magazines and on late-night television. We hear how they are now increasingly popping up on YouTube ahead of videos being watched by young women. The programme also speaks to the managing director of a Cosmetic Surgery Clinic about how it is now able to target its advertising.
The single parent charity, Gingerbread, has told You & Yours that two years after a study into the finances of single parents in the age of austerity, many families are still struggling to cope. The programme hears from an unemployed single mother who says the benefits system has been failing her situation, and her parents are regularly having to help her make ends meet.
Plus the rise of the personalised children's book. Why are parents increasingly inserting their child's name into stories?
