Runners from all over the world have taken part in the race against the Talyllyn Railway since 1984. On Saturday 19 August more than 1,000 runners will try to complete the 14-mile course alongside the train line faster than the locomotive, which is run by the Talyllyn Railway Preservation Society. The race, organised by Tywyn Rotary Club, is its 34th year and has raised more than Β£250,000 for charity.
