This week, exceptional guitarist and songwriter Martin Simpson performs songs from his new album, Trails & Tribulations. The collection is his 20th solo record and comes more than forty years after the start of his recording career.
The album follows Martin's 2013 release, Vagrant Stanzas. In the meantime he has worked with Simpson-Cutting-Kerr on the album Murmurs (2015) and collaborated with Carolina Chocolate Drops founder Dom Flemons.
Martin has been nominated 23 times in the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 2 Folk Awards, has contributed to film and television soundtracks, and has worked with luthiers around the world to develop acoustic guitars. Originally from Scunthorpe, he is now based in Sheffield.
