Fallon is driven to distraction, and Matt makes a promise.

Fallon's daunted by the prospect of buying a house in Borchester. Then she and Harrison hear that his parents want to lend them money so they can buy Woodbine. Fallon and Harrison agree to accept the offer.

Alice has persuaded plenty of people to volunteer for events at the fete; there will need to be regular event announcements. But the PA is broken, so Lynda suggests a town crier.

Justin's planning application is now online. Susan and Emma disagree about the affordable housing provision. Susan's worried it will attract the wrong sort of people, but Emma sees it as the chance to buy her own home. Lynda sees the development only as a scheme to enrich Justin, and a poor use of agricultural land.

After avoiding Matt outside the village shop, Lilian finds him on the doorstep of the Dower House. Their conversation on Friday showed him that Lilian still cares for him, and he's glad she could be honest. Lilian still wants no further contact, wary of the village rumour mill. Matt expects to be gone soon, but in the meantime he'll withdraw with dignity and accept that she has chosen Justin.
