Lynda drops into Brookfield to borrow a serving dish from Jill. Jill is not impressed that the Duxford sisters will open the fete. Lynda may see it as a coup, but they have a shocking reputation for wasting food. Jill hopes to persuade Brian and Jennifer to cancel their table at the Duxfords' opening night.

Clarrie is upset when guests turn up unexpectedly at Grange Farm. Eddie was supposed to cancel their B&B booking, but they missed his text. Eddie tries to find them alternative accommodation in the village but only Grey Gables is a possibility. Unable to cover the price difference for the guests, Eddie convinces Clarrie to host the couple after all. They'll be long gone before Oliver returns on Saturday.

Shula thinks Grey Gables will be the best place for Caroline's memorial service, as Caroline was not religious. She doesn't feel much like carrying on as normal, but is committed to attending a hunt puppy show. Oliver calls to let her know Caroline's cremation has been brought forward. He will try for an earlier flight - he can't get home soon enough.
