The Big Dig, Every Body Tells a Tale and Move the Needle

The Big Dig, Every Body Tells a Tale and Move the Needle. Páistí Bhunscoil an tSléibhe Dhuibh ag glacadh páirt sa Tochailt Mhóir agus déanann Conall turas ar reilg Bhéal Feirste.

Eagraítear an Tochailt Mhór nó an Big Dig gach uile bhliain agus i mbliana chuaigh Treasa Bhreathnach amach go Sliabh Dhuibhise chun a fháil amach cad é mar a bhí ag éirí leis na páistí ó Bhunscoil an tSléibhe Dhuibh a bhí ag glacadh páirt sa tochailt i mbliana. An bhfuair siad fianaise faoi shaol ár muintir nó úsáid an tsuímh sa tsean-am? Fosta, téann Conall Ó Máirtín ar thuras timpeall reilig chathrach Bhéal Feirste le Tom Hartley, iarmhéara Bhéal Feirste, agus faigheann sé amach faoi thogra úr ealaíne bunaithe ar leabhar Tom agus a bhí seolta ar shean-láthair an RUC i mBaile Andarsan. Fosta, cluinfimid faoi thogra úr 'Move the Needle' atá ag iarraidh tuilleadh ban a spreagadh chun dul i mbun DJáil.

The Big Dig is a yearly event and this year Treasa Bhreathnach went out to Divis Mountain to find out how the children from Bunscoil an tSléibh Dhuibh, who are taking part in this year's dig, got on. Did they find any evidence of how our ancestors spent their time or about the original use of the site at Divis Mountain? Also, Conall Ó Máirtín takes a tour around Belfast City Cemetery with one of Belfast's past city mayors, Tom Hartley, and finds out about another art project, based on Tom's book, that was launched on the site of the old RUC barracks in Andersonstown. We also hear about the 'Move the Needle' project which is trying to encourage more women to become DJs.
