Affordable rural housing
A new report from the CPRE claims that developers are reneging on promises to build affordable housing, and rural communities are losing out. Anna Hill asks them why.
A new report from the Campaign to Protect Rural England claims that housing developers aren't playing fair, and says rural communities are losing out. It claims that some companies are getting approval for their countryside building projects - then once work is underway, reneging on agreements to build infrastructure or affordable housing, claiming they can no longer stick to the original deal. Anna Hill talks to the CPRE about their report, and also asks the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Builders Federation for their reaction to criticism of their members.
As part of Farming Today's week looking at crop protection, Anna meets a research scientist who is investigating the peach aphid - an insect whose arrival can prove disastrous for a whole variety of crops.
Presented by Anna Hill and produced by Emma Campbell.
