Lilian has a spring in her step, and Toby offers little comfort.
As the family gathers for Easter lunch at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Farm, Jennifer notes Lilian's strange mood. She's just drunk on life, Lilian cheerfully explains. Jennifer's not fooled, and presses Lilian as to why she and Justin have been giggling like children. Lilian admits they're engaged; and that she asked him this time. She confesses seeing Matt again reminded her how disastrous that relationship was, and made clear what a good catch Justin is. He's the one for her.
Jill reports she enjoyed the Easter service, inspired by Alan's message of renewal and hope. She and David discuss Pip's confession about the escaped cattle. They agree the cover up isn't her style; but it is Toby's. After a very awkward family lunch, Jill reassures Pip that her parents don't hate her. Pip continues to fret over Ruth's reaction. When Jill hints that some of the blame may lie with Toby, Pip's adamant she has no-one to blame but herself.
Pip catches up with Toby during a lull in his shift at The Bull. He assures her this trouble will all blow over, but tells her she should have stuck to his plan of not owning up about the broken fence. Pip snaps at him. Meanwhile Ruth's in torment. She really doesn't know what to say to Pip.
