Trip in a Tardis, anyone?
Dr Who returns to our screens this weekend and it got the team here at Science CafΓ© thinking about the possibility of time travel.Β The subject has clocked up quite a bit of mileage, not only in the Dr Who series, but in some of our favourite films. Β Adam's guests this week are all intrigued by time travel. The are Dr Edward Gomez, Β the Education Director at Las Cumbres Telescope Network, based at Cardiff University, Dr Erik Stengler, a senior lecturer in Science Communication at the University of the West of England in Bristol - and Dr Karen Masters, a reader in Astronomy and Astrophysics at Portsmouth University. They all agree that it might eventually be possible to travel significantly forward in timeΒ and space. Traveling back in time, however, is rather more complicated.
And if all this whets your appetite, Jason Phelps reports from The Story of Time exhibition at Oriel Science in Swansea. It's open this Easter and offers the chance to get close to a Tardis and a De Lorean!Β Β Β Β Β Β Β
